Enriching, Meaningful, & Personalized Care
We believe memory care should feel like family. Families across Fayetteville, Manlius, DeWitt, East Syracuse, and nearby Central New York communities trust us to care for their loved ones with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Our community is designed to support older adults living with dementia through every stage of memory loss. By joining us early, your loved one can build meaningful relationships with our care team and enjoy the comfort of familiar routines, even as their needs change over time.
Through our philosophy, The Peregrine Way®, we focus on more than care—we focus on connection. Our specially trained dementia care team provides consistent, personalized support designed to enhance safety, reduce confusion, and bring joy to everyday life.
We help your loved one stay connected to who they are, not just what they may be experiencing. We take pride in giving your family peace of mind knowing your relative is supported every step of the way.

What Is Memory Care?
Memory care provides expert support for your relative through all stages of dementia and other cognitive conditions.
Our individualized care plans address each resident’s unique needs, helping them maintain independence, identity, and dignity.
Through The Peregrine Way®, we celebrate your loved one while fostering joy and purpose in everyday life. We help those who matter most to you feel valued, supported, and truly at home.
When Should You Choose Memory Care?
For individuals experiencing memory decline, a specialized environment offering therapy and structured programming isn’t just beneficial—it’s often a necessary step, much like taking prescribed medicine for a physical condition.
Moving during earlier stages often allows your loved one to be more involved in the decision-making process and adapt to their new environment and routines before cognitive changes become more pronounced. It also provides access to specialized programs designed to slow cognitive decline and maintain independence for as long as possible, giving families peace of mind and ensuring their loved one receives the care they need from the start.
By entrusting their care to us, you give yourself the precious opportunity to let go of the constant demands of caregiving and simply return to being a spouse, son, daughter, or friend—strengthening the loving bond you share.
Tailored Care & Thoughtful Support
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to care—we craft our experiences based on unique needs, preferences, and personality in mind.
With 24/7 on-site support, your loved one is cared for around the clock, including help with bathing, grooming, dining, and other daily needs.
Our support can also be a relief for families. Caregiver burnout is a common experience, and seeking support is a sign of strength.
At Peregrine, we provide comprehensive care for your loved one, while also offering you relief, peace of mind, and support resources, helping you avoid burnout and rediscover balance.
Continuing Your Loved One’s Story
We know how important it is for individual identities to remain connected to their identities.
That’s why we focus on celebrating their stories and memories through programs like Legacy Stories and Peregrine University, which are designed to spark joy and engagement. These activities evoke happy moments and foster connection, build self-esteem, and create a sense of purpose for your loved one.
And because family is paramount, we also ensure you remain an integral part of your loved one’s life and care by inviting you to participate in care planning, offering regular communication updates, and welcoming you to join activities and community events.
A Holistic Approach to Well-Being
Here, we focus on their whole self—mind, body, and spirit. From nutritious meals to tailored wellness and exercise programs, we create an experience where our residents can thrive.
Our commitment extends beyond essential care needs. Residents benefit from tailored exercise programs, emotional support, and access to physical therapy through convenient outpatient services provided on-site by a trusted third-party provider, often covered by insurance.
Alongside specialized therapies, diverse social programming, and structured, purposeful programs, residents receive comprehensive support designed to enrich their lives—providing more engagement and specialized attention than families initially anticipate, leading to enhanced well-being and peace of mind.

Is Dementia Carethe Same as Memory Care?
Yes, you have found the right place. In the senior living industry, the comprehensive, specialized support you are looking for is called memory care.
While families often search for “dementia care” because it relates directly to a diagnosis, “memory care” is the name we use for our dedicated neighborhoods, our evidence-based programs, and our specially trained teams that provide this exact support.
How Can Memory Care Help?
Here, we believe in creating a safe, enriching environment where individuality is celebrated, and relatives or loved ones can maintain their sense of self. At the same time, we’re here for you! By entrusting us with your relative or loved one’s care, you gain the peace of mind that comes with knowing they are thriving and getting the structured programming they need, while you find relief from stress and burnout.
Alzheimer’s Disease
Supporting a relative or loved one with Alzheimer’s disease can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone.
With cognitive stimulation programs, structured activities, and emotional support, we aim to help your loved one manage their symptoms and find joy in the moment.
Advanced Parkinson’s Disease with Dementia
As Parkinson’s disease progresses, it often brings cognitive challenges like dementia, alongside physical difficulties. Our specialized care focuses on supporting residents with Parkinson’s-related dementia through a holistic approach.
We offer tailored exercise programs, emotional support, and access to physical therapy through outpatient services provided in the building by a third-party provider, covered by insurance.
Other Forms of Dementia
Dementia can take many forms, and we specialize in supporting individuals in the earlier stages, providing care that adapts as their needs evolve.
Our focus is on creating a foundation for aging in place, ensuring your loved one can remain in a comfortable, familiar environment as their journey progresses. Through cognitive therapies, confidence-building routines, and a nurturing community, we help residents maintain meaningful connections to themselves and others.
For families, this means less worry about daily care and more opportunities to create positive, lasting memories together.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is memory care different from assisted living?
While assisted living supports seniors with daily activities, memory care offers a higher level of specialized support for cognitive decline. This includes trained dementia care staff, enhanced safety features, and programs designed specifically to support memory and cognitive function.
When is it time to consider memory care?
Memory care may be the right option if your loved one is experiencing:
- Frequent confusion or disorientation
- Wandering or safety concerns
- Difficulty managing daily routines or medications
- Increased caregiver stress at home
If these challenges are becoming more frequent, a structured memory care environment may provide the support they need.
Is your memory care staff specially trained?
Yes. All team members receive specialized dementia care training through The Peregrine Way®, ensuring compassionate, consistent, and knowledgeable support for every resident.

Our Testimonials
See what people are saying about our other memory care communities:
Peregrine has been a blessing for our family. We moved our mom into Peregrine Senior Living on Onondaga Hill when mom was 100 years old and diagnosed with dementia. We realized she was not safe to be left alone and searched for the right place for her to live. Mom is now 102 years old and has lived at Peregrine for almost two years. The staff and administration are welcoming, caring, and competent; they truly love our mom. She is so well cared for in every way. The staff always goes above and beyond to make sure mom feels safe and comfortable. The activities available for residents are engaging and delightful, from music presentations to bingo, games, bowling, crafts baking, and weekly Friday happy hours. Special occasions, holidays and birthdays are celebrated for mom and all the residents. Mom has resident friends who she eats meals with, and the food is appealing and and delicious. Mom receives her medications appropriately, and is checked on often. Her room is clean and lovely, with a large bathroom that is easily accessible to mom with her walker. The staff help her with showers, toileting, and activities of daily living. I highly recommend Peregrine for your loved one who is diagnosed with memory loss and dementia.

After many years of caring for my wife Maria at home, I realized that her dementia had progressed beyond my ability to provide her the care and security she needed.
The next step – find a home that could provide for her needs. I visited numerous facilities in Western New York including Peregrine Senior Living of Orchard Park.
Peregrine was my choice for many reasons. It is a smaller home with a true sense of community. Their focus is memory care, which becomes obvious when you see the various special areas and daily activities. Most important, however, is the compassionate and professional staff that provide for the residents. Peregrine welcomes family members to visit and participate. Their holiday celebrations never disappoint!
Maria started her third year as a resident at Peregrine. Maria is safe and fulfilled. She considers Peregrine as her HOME.

My mom is doing really well here and I like that she is able to be a part of the activities and field trips with the other residents. The staff in the Memory Care are great with her. They make sure that she stays busy and she likes going down to the dining room as well. I would definitely recommend this community as the staff really care here.
